Hugs were invented ....

I made this card this week for the Crafter's Companion Die'sire team.
I am so loving these Sunflowers you will be seeing them again!!

To make the card I used the Die'sire Cameo frame die .
I folded white card in half and cut just inside the top cut lines
to allow a fold fr the card to stand.
I then cut a single frame in Centura Pearl with a hint of silver.
and adhered it over the top of the card.
The sentiment I used is from the Sentimental's stamp set Love is all you need.
Which I stamped on the inner oval die cut and
inked with Mustard seed distress ink.
To make the flowers I used the large and small
Die'sire Sunflower dies cutting it on Coredinations card.
To create the distressed look I used the Coredinations sand it kit.
I then glued inside the flowers black beads,
cut leafs using Leaf 2 die in pearl card
and the card is complete !

Hope you like it !!
Happy Crafting.

Time for friends like you.

Oh I loved making this card !!
I broke out the pens and got colouring !!!
Until I had coloured it I had absolutely no idea what
I was going to do with this !!! And then it came to me !

I even coloured the flowers with my Promarkers a first !
I usually use distress inks but I like colours to all match !
Plus this is a total colour change for me !!!
Hehe I tend to reach for the pinks and lilacs
but this time I just felt the blues calling me !!!

Flower Making Tutorial

I have been asked by several people to do
a tutorial on how I make my flowers.
So here we go !!! I thought I'd show you how I made
the Leaves and flowers in the card above
Please bear with me it is very photo heavy !!!

I used the Majestic Morning Flower Stamp and die,
The Open Leaf stamp set and Classic Leaf die

First of all we need to make a mask of the die.
Take a piece of card and tape the die to it
using a low tack tape.

Run this through your die cutting machine.
Remove the flowers and you will have this attached
to your die. DO NOT remove it.

Now take another piece of card.
I use a lightweight card, sadly it isn't weighted
but the heavier you use the harder it is to shape.
And the lighter it is the easier it is to tear when shaping !!!
The Heartfelt Creations paper pads do
make fantastic flowers !
Stamp the image onto the card.

Take your die and mask and lay the mask over the stamped image.
Line it up so that the die will cut exactly around the image.
Adhere the mask and die down to the image with low tack tape
so that the mask doesn't move.

Run this through your die cutting machine.
It will cut the flowers out like below.

Now take your flowers and colour them up.
First of all I go over the centres applying
a light colouring using ink.

I then apply heavier ink around the edges to give a shading.

When all your flowers are coloured they need to be shaped.
Take your shaping tool and mat.
Turn the flower so the back is facing upwards and
in a gently circular motion shape each petal.
The flower will curl upwards.

When you have shaped all the petals,
turn the flower over so the inked side faces up.
Using a circular motion shape the centre of the flower.
This allows the petals to come upwards whilst still
curving outwards.

Now heat up your glue gun and with hot glue
fill the centre of your flower.

Pour beads onto the Hot glue while still hot !
And leave to dry. Remove any excess beads.
I use a tray to do this part with so that the beads
don't go everywhere !

Now using glitter glue,
Glitter the edges of the flowers.

Now for the leaves ..........
Use the same process to make a mask and cut out a stamped image.
Again using ink, colour very lightly over the die cut.

Now using heavier ink, just colour the edges of the leaves.
Your fingers get very messy !!!

To shape the leaves lay the leaf down so the white side
is face up. Using gentle circular motions
shape each leaf so that they curl up.

Now turn the leaf over and gently smooth along the
stalk of the leaf so that the whole leaf lays flat
with each leaf still curved.

And there you have it !
All you then need to do is adhere
your flowers and leaves to your project !
Here is the card from the beginning to remind you !

Hope that helped.
Happy Crafting !

Fairy Wings

Its time for a Christmas Card club card !
I missed the last one set by Margaret due to my OH
grandson being so ill he had to have an emergency operation .......
Thankfully he is well now and home from hospital !
So I have the card to share for Margaret's challenge on here too.

But first things first !!!
This week the challenge was  set by Christine and she challenged
our little group to make a card using WINGS !
I chose to use this LOTV fairy image, they all have little wings!
I made a tag pocket card using Nitwit Papers,
Spellbinder dies, Martha Stewart punch and
those gorgeous Poinsettias are from WOC.
I glittered the image up with Stickes
but it was such a sunny day when I took
the photo I'm not sure you can see it very well !!

Right........... the card I made for the previous challenge!

Margaret set us the challenge to use a ROBIN !
This image is from Flower Soft,
I bought it a few years ago at a craft fair on sale
and never used it until now !!!
I know, I know !!! tut tut !!! hehe !
The poinsettia is a Marianne Die, Cheery Lynn swirl
and the card is made from Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles.
Sorry Margaret that its so late !
Better late than never they say !!!!!

The Christmas card club is a group of ladies that
set each other challenges every two weeks
so that we get our Christmas cards made !

Heartfelt Creations

I saw these amazing sentiments and thought ...... a star box was the order of the day !!
So I used the decorative lattice die from the
 Raindrops on Roses and flowers
from the Majestic Morning release alongside this release to create this box.

Each side of this box is different !!
So there are a few photos !!!

I have to say I love the effect this gift box gives when finished !
It really is very easy to make, it looks more
complex than it actually is ........ honest !
I will admit it is time consuming to decorate it BUT
you don't have to do it so full as mine is here !
Stop by again tomorrow for my second project this week !

I used and did  the following to make this project:

HCD 736 Classic leaf die
HCPC 3545 Open Leaf PreCut set
459222 Paper Blossoms Tools
452255 Grand Calibur
HCD 743 Raindrops on Roses die
HCD 742 Majestic Blooms Die
HCPC 3578 Majestic Morning Background
HCDP1 241 Once Upon a Time paper pad
HCD 744 Once upon a time die
HCPC 3593 Numerical Clocks PreCut set
HCPC 3594 Time Sentiments PreCut set

Other Products Used : Victorian Velvet Ink, Beads, Hot glue, glitter glue,
Brown and Peeled Paint inks, white card.

There are obviously two pieces to make, the top and the bottom !
Lets start with the base.Take a 12x12 piece of paper from the pad and fold
to make a star box. Don't panic ..... follow these steps to fold into the box !
1. Fold in half horizontally, vertically and in both diagonals.
2. Bring the top and bottom corners together
(having the design of paper you want for the outer of the box on the outer of the folding)
and tuck in the other two sides.
3. Have the opening at the top and fold one side into the central fold.
open the flap and press it open. Tuck the side of the
flap under itself and repeat on all of the sides.
4. There will now be 4 narrow pointed flaps. Fold them down as far as you can.
5. Pull them open, pushing the box open, shaping with your hands.

Cut four of the Decorative lattice die and adhere under each flap cutting
each one in half. Cut and adhere four triangles of contrasting paper and cover each flap.
(I traced around mine onto the paper for an exact fit) Adhere each flap over the die cuts.

Now for the lid !!
Cut a 10 cm square of matching paper and score 1 cm from each edge. Make into a box base.
This will make the piece that sits inside the gift box. Cut four of the Decorative lattice die cuts
and arrange on the top of the base of the box. Trim the die cuts where necessary. Cut a
8 cm square co-ordinating piece of paper and adhere over the die cuts. Cut a 14 cm square
piece of paper to match the paper over the flaps.Score at 1 cm and 4 cm from the edges,
making into a box with the 1 cm scored piece fringed so the box will adhere on top of the
paper and die cuts. To make the handle, cut two strips of paper 21 cm x 3 cm and 3 decorative
die cuts. Adhere the die cuts trimming them to one strip of paper and then cover with the
second strip and adhere to the box sides. Stamp and cut your clocks and sentiments and ink.
Cut, ink, glitter and adhere the flowers and leaves, adhering beads in the flower centres.
Adhere the flowers, sentiments, clocks and leaves on the box. Each side of the box is
different! Your gift box is now complete !
